Ah yes...you have inspired me...what can I say....this is my first KG game in at least a year! Check it out...poorly played but a nice looking game I suppose.....

Tony...I would not say poorly played on anyone's part but your opponant's. That is textbook KG assault on F7. My favorite spot was 11...Nc3. You opponant is thinking "Free Rook" and the hammer falls in a huge hurry. 11...0-0 was the right play. then give Nc3 a try.

I probably would have gone with 8. c3 to eliminate all those horrible threats with the knight. I've had some truly horrible games with an exchange on f3 followed by a knight on d4. Like, games where I almost lost by force.

These players don't know the threat that KG is if you fail to castle quickly...

yeah, but in this line that I played, or that he played I should say....the idea is that he can't castle. I sacked on f7 for that reason, and before that, he couldn't develop his pieces....I can't really criticize him for not castling in this game....but I can for ..Qxf4 and ..Qg5, maybe even ...Bh6.

wha wha wha??? 11. ... Bxf4 0-1, since black has two pieces and a rook for the queen. Actually more like 1/2-1/2, since white could probably still get a perpetual because of the threat to fork the rook.

You'll note that game was exactly the same length as your muzio carnage, but (a) against a player substantially better than me, (b) without hanging a rook 🙄, and (c) with an extremely cute and totally unnecessary queen sac at the end.
