Originally posted by jonrothwellbefore the Kasparov match, Kramnik was notorious for long nights with smokes and alcohol, he was fat and didn't sleep regularly. All those were gone for the match. He did lots of swimming, weight exercises, walking, gave up smoking and liqueor, had regular sleeping hours, and of course, 10-12 hours of chess study every day.
Does anyone know what factors influence form? Both in chess and generally? Have scientists/psychologists ever investigated it?
Thanks, J
people say he was hard to recognize a few days prior to the match. I think all those are a part of form.
