Topalov did not want the match to go to tie breaks. He wanted to finish off the match today itself. So......he went ahead and lost.

He played very quickly, blundered and lost in front of his home-crowd. I haven't read Danailov's comments after the match, he might be on the first flight out of Bulgaria.
