1. e4 g6 2. Nc3 Bg7 3. d4 d6 4. f4 a6 {as advocated by Hillarp-Persson} 5. Nf3 b5 6. Be2 Nd7 7. O-O Bb7 8. Qd3 {8.e5 is more challenging for black} c5 9. d5 {A positional mistake. As I said on my previous note white should play for e5 instead.} Ngf6 10. Rd1 c4 {double edged. c5 becomes available for my knight, the downside is that it gives the d4 square to white.} 11. Qe3 Nc5 12. h3 O-O 13. e5 {now comes the e5 break} Nfd7 {13...dxe5 was not possible because the c5 knight would then be without protection} 14. b4 cxb3 15. axb3 Nb6 16. b4 {understandably white wants to chase my good knight on c5. the text does however give me other good squares for my knight(s) - a4 and c4. Perhaps 16.Ba3 was an alternative method of getting rid of the knight on c5} Nca4 {i wasn't quite sure if 16...Ncd7 17.e6 fxe6 18.Qxe6 Kh8 19.Nd4 was good for me or him} 17. Nxa4 Nxa4 18. c4 {unpleasant. not easy to defend b5} Nb6 {withdrawing from the dangerous a4 square and from here eyeing d5} 19. cxb5 axb5 20. Rxa8 Bxa8 21. Qb3 {21.Bxb5? Nxd5 leaving b4 en prise and a possible Qb6+ is in the air for me} dxe5 22. Nxe5 Qc7 {i didn't like my knight being pinned in the d-file which is why I decided not to take the pawn on d5} 23. Bxb5 Nxd5 24. Bc4 e6 {moving the knight was not an option because it would allow tricks on f7} 25. Bxd5 Bxd5 {i believe I have the edge. it's not easy for white to defend his b pawn and the question then remains: can black win with his extra pawn?} 26. Qe3 Qb7 27. Qd2 Rb8 28. Nd3 Bf8 {wrong plan! I cannot afford to give up my bishop for their knight. I was too focused on winning their pawn. In retrospect it would have been better to have my active pieces entering enemy territory in the a-file. A plan like Rb8-a8-a2 looks very strong.} 29. Bb2 Bxb4 30. Nxb4 Qxb4 {mission accomplished, pawn won! it has, however, boiled down to an opposite coloured bishop ending which is without any practical winning chances for me} 31. Bc3 Qe4 32. Re1 Rb1 33. Rxb1 Qxb1+ 34. Qe1 Qc2 {keeping the queens on the board or not makes no difference. I believe the game is drawn} 35. Qd2 Qe4 36. Kh2 Kf8 {I offered a draw. Let's move on to other games rather than spending time on another 50 moves in a position like this.}

thanks Q
the game is nothing special really. I'm sure you agree. It still could be interesting to study, I believe.
On a side note I find there's too few chess analysises in this forum. Again, I'm quite sure you agree with me.
