5.Ne5 adds a couple more moves by covering c6.

It shows you are being unrealistic - your opponent plays at 1500 in the opening stages and you do not complain. You only complain when he has a win in 10 moves. Look at any chess magazine and you will see full blooded GMs who have missed combinations or blundered. That's part of the game.

Ra3+ was the first thing I thought of looking at the position. Any normal moves will lose because you're down a rook. It doesn't take much thought to see that black gets a decent looking attack on the white king after Ra3 so you may as well try it.
