I've seen the name, but that is about it. I know nothing at all about him. He probably lost in any games that I looked at. It has been over 30 years since I have gone through Bobby Fischer's most memorable games, but I now see that games 12 and 30 were draws against Gligoric. But back in those days I was not too interested in draws. Well, I guess that holds true even today.

P.S. I looked at some of my other books to see if I could find any games played by Gligoric and I found no game in which Gligoric won. Besides the losses against Fischer, I found games were he lost against Tigran Petrosian and Hugh Alexander. However, I do have a game in which he got a draw against Tal.

Okay, I am sorry I offended you. Maybe I will find out more about Gligoric and admire him too.

I for one knew nothing about Gligoric before this thread, but glad I do now. A very interesting and inspiring player. RIP. Thanks for sharing 🙂

My knowledge of GM's is based mostly on the very famous ones and those mentioned here. Some background reading suggests he was thoroughly nice chap. Incidentally, I drove past the cemetery with Bobby Fischer in yesterday, so the timing of GM memorials was apt
