Sure! 😀

Obviously you are a more experienced player, but I will give you a run for your money... I'm sure beating you will give my rating a massive boost! 😉 😉

I've been playing the grob exclusively for the last few weeks. It generally leads to quick, interesting games, and I think it might be a good weapon against players my level if I ever get into OTB play. I've had some bad losses with it, but those have usually been the fault of my sloppy play, not the opening itself.

A few examples of my Grob games:

Wins

Game 2121664
Game 2133516

Losses
Game 2133400
Game 2148549

Good! Nobody should. I was joking though... I think it would be an interesting match forsure.

The above might make a nice addendum to your book.
Game 1958788
I was following a line given in the above ref's download.
Edit: My best Grob to date ran: 1.g4 Nf6 2.g5 d5 3.gxf6 Resigns This was an OTB club game against a 1675 guy.

17...Bxb4 is clearly a dmistake how about
17...Ng3 18.Rh2 ed 19.cd Qxd4 looks strong for black

Game 2133516
16...Rxd2!! wins instantly
17.Kxd2 Qxc2+ 18. Rd8+ Bd4 19.ed and white can not save both the B and the N.

Don't worry, it IS a horrible move. It may have occasional surprise value OTB, but no serious player would base his repertoire around an opening that pretty well rules out kingside castling first move!

.
I imagine you're right about the rook sac, but you seem to have gotten white and black switched around somewhere in there. It appears you have black moving twice in a row.

By the way, is Kxd2 white's best option? What would happen after 17. Nf3?

Against the grob I normally give up the exchange; this is white's big idea. I find that black gets an excellent game:
1. g4 d5
2. Bg2 Bg4
3. c4 dc4!? (The fritz gambit)
4. Bb7 Nd7
5. Ba8 Qa8
And now White has to play f3. For the exchange black gets lightning development in comparison to white's ugly position. There is also a pin on the a8-h1 diagonal. The knight on d7 usually gets to hop to e5 later to compound matters for white.

I went backand looked at it with the computer (ChessDragon using crafty engine), and. it suggests that white is still ahead after 16... Rxd2 17. Nf3 (17. Kxd2 is clearly wrong.)

On the other hand, the computer says that black is winning after 17. Bc3 Rxd2 18.Bxd2. So hitting d2 with the rook was right, just one move later than you suggested.

The computer also pointed out that black should play Nxd5 on move 11, leading to 12. Bxd5 Bxf2+ 13. Kxf2 Nc5 and black is winning.

What's wrong with 16.Nf3

Here's a Grob game that went reasonably well for me-- 30 minute/game time control:

Nice FICS game, Pro Deo thinks that after 42...Kc7 it's drawn (Depth 17). However the big mistake for black was 43...cxd4? (43...Bf3 is apparently better, -.12depth 17) and 47...d4? is also horrible. Best here is 47...Ka6 although your chances for victory look very solid even after this move. Nice job.
