I'm currently playing a game on chessworld.net against a player named "old" he has a record of :
98 wins
5 draws
8 losses

I was playing the king's indian defence I thought. The Server indentifies our game as a "grunfeld 5bf4". On that server it's impossible to even look over the pgn of your games past two moves so this is from memory.

1. d4 Nf6
2. c4 g6
3. Nc3 Bg7
4. Bf4 c5
5. Nf3 d5
6. e3 O-O
7. dxc5 Qa5
8. cxd5 Nxd5
9. Qa4 Bxc3+

Please do not comment on this game past move 9 as it is ongoing.

It's just shocking to me how lucky I have been lately. I have had players that should be spanking me off the board dropping pieces like crazy. This is just one game among a myriad of others where I've just plain and simple lucked out.

Mind you I appreciate the luck, but it's making me look like I'm a great player when I'm not. I'm just about average 1650 or so I think in my honest oppinion. It's like I'm happy to be winning but in the back of my mind is the fear that one day all of my opponents will regain their senses and start playing solid games and I'll come crashing back down.

Chess is a fickle mistress.
