Right. This weekend I'm playing in a small Open in a Congress - U130 ECF (maybe 1500 FIDE) and up. I've played three games; one against a 131, one 180 (2106) and one 209 (2274). What I'd like to do is present the first 15 moves of each game to see if you can guess which opening belongs to which game (I'll put myself in the header so you know which colour to look at):

    1

    2

    3

Edit: I hope this isn't obvious otherwise it's no fun...

    I'd go for:

    Game 1: 209
    Game 2: 180
    Game 3: 131

    Interesting.

I would of thought the first game was from the lowest ranked player as the colle system is very common with weak club players.

I was right about the Nf6 game though, as it is a very subtle opening and usually only played by stronger players.

Everyone seems to play the Sicilian, from woodpushers like me to the world champion.

It was difficult to distinguish between the first two games. But the third game had a few weak moves that you wouldn't expect from the two better players.

I tried to cheat by merely looking at the position they had achieved after 15 moves. I agree the last was the weakest but had thought the first was the strongest.
