We have made 59 half moves since the last capture or pawn move. Why isn't the game automatically drawn?Game 293990

It's got to be 50 moves without a pawn move or capture, by both sides. In other words, 50 WHOLE moves, before either player can claim a draw. The last capture was on the 44th move, so there's still quite a few moves to go.

Unfortunately, the software used by the site still doesn't recognise the 50 move rule (or any of the other standard draws in chess, such as draw by repetition or insufficient material). So if you want to claim a draw, you need to contact Russ!
