Nah, I'm a patzer. It's weird, but sometimes I seem to enjoy the culture of chess more than the actual playing. Besides, I kinda like the fact that I have one move for every day of the year. 🙂

It's a very fun opening, and if your opponent doesn't know how to reply to it, it can be disastrous for black. However, if your opponent does know how to reply to it, you are likely to be in trouble yourself. Here's an article about it: http://www.chessville.com/UCO/Halloween_Gambit/Part_1.htm
I have only looked very quickly through the game, and it looks to me like both sides made some pretty bad moves, and white was lucky to win.
