nothing is wrong with it i have just been playing it against my friend and he wont even take the pawn. he thinks if i'm offering him pieces then theres something attached to it. if i am killing then i try to trade a queen for a rook and a bishop if i can so he still has his queen and feels pretty good. idk just wanted to look further into it although the sicilian has done wonders for me latley.

Originally posted by kmac27i have played instead of e6, e5 before. my opponent took the e pawn and i took it back with my bishop. it is similiar to when i play Nf5 and they play Nc3, then i play c6, they take it, and i take it with Nc6.
i am wondering if i should take up this opening or not. i can't find much information on it but i have heard it is caleld Becks gambit or "leafs gambit." any thoughts?
I don't like that idea personally. For an e4 start as Black my ideal game (sensible chess) would be:
1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 Nc6
3. d4 exd4
4. Nxd4 Nf6
5. Nxc6 dxc6
6. e5 Nd4
7. c4
and I have a fairly strong position, but far better is this;
1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 Nc6
3. Bc4 h6
4. 0-0 Nf6
5. Nc3 Bc5
6. h3 d6
and I am in the lead position, and can castle.
I don't like the idea of opening up by sacrificing the two main pawns, even if it does free the bishops.
Originally posted by EcstremeVenomI don't quite see what you mean. You're oponent takes the e-pawn, then you move your knight to f5. How? You can't mean its starting square, either b8 or g8.

Then: I don't get what you mean by they play Nc3, then you play c6 and they take it. What with? The Knight? You can't take c6 with a Knight on c3. Can you explain what you really meant please?
I played a centre/counter attack game recently. This is what I tend to do.
Game 2738739
It looks like the queen is far too exposed in the centre, but if you are lucky you can get the early win. White has to play very carefully in the centre/counter game.
By move 18 I thought I had a great chance with the rooks on the d & e files.
I managed to only get a draw though:'(
