    Hi SG.

And on the 4th of Feb you posted:

"...2000 is nothing. I blunder all the time..."

So I'm looking at some of the other games in our tournament and....

....on the 7th of Feb this happened. (see game below).

You were trying to sneak in a Rxh2 checkmate and missed the wee sneaky shot.

When I get around to writing my next book it's instructive blunders like
this that will feature in it. Your one will be on the cover.

    Cheers Mate! (got anymore?)

Check all Checks (and don't tempt fate) 🙂

I've noticed the Header thingy does not show the grades. Don't worry,
I've added them in brackets after the names. (I'm loving this) 😉

My lucky esacape was in Game 7141584 completely underestimated my
opponent and played a totally dreadful opening waitng for the blunder.

It eventually came but if they had played 10.Nf3 to stop my e5 then I'm surely lost.

One lad has allowed me to play a Greek Gift just one month after reveiwing
the Bxh7+ Sacrifice book on the Corner. (you can have a return chuckle if I lose).

    Check all checks. Pfft.

God laughed as his hand reached down through the clouds and mercilessly smote another hapless 1300 player. He was relentless in his assault, immortal in all his prowess.

Not that constantly beating down a bunch of 1300-1500s made God narcissistic or anything.

Check all checks? The foolish worry of a mere mortal! Bah, thought God to himself as he pounded the "Submit" key with a thunderous mouse click, took another sip of Mountain Dew and waited for quitting time at work.

Here's another fun one. I got lost in the opening, and was frankly lucky to survive it. He missed 9.exf6! winning a piece.

So I get to the middlegame, but still a bit disoriented, and I get hit with 21.Nf5!?

And I'm thinking ...gf Bh6 looks kinda dangerous, and ignoring the sac lets him weaken the dark squares with NxB, but oh hey! I have the clever ...NxB myself, and THEN I'll eat that Knight.

    Hi SG.

When I had my boys in Bates Motel I used to go ape if they missed
a one move trick involving a check. I reall tore into them.

So to make sure there was no comeback I made sure I would not step
into one give them a 'practise what you preach' post.

So I do give the whole board a blunder check before sending.
It works. (oh boy am I tempting fate or what?).

My selected move may not be good, and I've missed a few quick mates,
but I try to ensure it's never a one move blunder.

I know you are a good OTB player and during a 'real' game our in built
sense of danger takes care of these things.

But here we make the moves 'cold' and a few times I've seen myself
changing my mind because I was about to walk into something.

I've no need to coach you in these things but other guys might read
this and think, "Well if the good guys are making one move blunders by moving
too quick, perhaps I had better slow down."

The blunders I've seen on here are far worse than I've seen OTB.
You would think that would be the reverse.

However I do realise there are more casual players here than I see OTB.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear I was reading about myself. I botched a mate in 2 and completely forgot about a mate in 1 in the same day, as I was rifling through games trying to keep up with my foolishness.

My play was so bad, I was waiting for the Almighty to strike me down.

And he did, a few times!
