I just started playing chess, any suggestions of where to go for tips and stuff to become a better player?

I would suggest using 'google' or another search engine, and search for "basic chess instruction" or something similar to that. You will get links to several sites that may be of use to you in getting off to a good start.

Some of the players here may be helpful, and I guess you're aware that you can play up to six games at once, instead of just one at a time.

Good luck, and welcome!

Go to the library, get a basic book like Logical Chess Move by Move by Chernev and read it through. That'll help. Also, don't get discouraged. Every great chessplayer (even Fischer) had to lose thousands of games before they got good.
