I have been playing as a non sub. I lost my first four games as i was called away and missed the time limits. Since then I won 16 games and yet my rating is still only 1300. I want to play better players, how long will it take to get to 1700's?

Is the subscription worth it?

I'd say yes. I can have more games open and not worry too much about if one guy doesn't move because these other 10 are.

Set up and Open invite and put some reasonable rating limits.

If you beat someone 200 points higher then you, you get 24 points for the win.

200 lower and you only get 8 points.

Better off playing people at the same rating or slightly higher.

What does one get if he draws in a game playing someone 200 pts. higher? And does the 200-pt. player get anything in that draw?

8 points and the 200+ player loses 8.

It goes like this, 16 points for a win or -16 for a lose.

Then you get an additional +/- 4 points for 100 point difference.

So if you are 1500 and you beat a 1600 you get 16+4=20.

If you beat a 1400 player you get 16-4=12.

You gain 24 points by beating someone rated 200 points above you, so I'd assume you'd gain 8 points from drawing (considering you gain 16 from beating someone at your rating).
