Despite the fact that it had nothing to do with the conversation at hand and given an hour I could work out a game that was much longer than that without a computer?

I accept that it was a variation of the exact topic. they were talking about time not number of moves. But I thought it an interesting place to show that a game can theroretically last a LONG, LONG time.

You think you can demonstrate a game longer than this idiot? You are obviously dumber then you seem. I will say no more. The obvious facts speak for themselves.

That is not a game. That is a tablebase. It's also not 522 moves. It's 518 moves to the decisive capture and mate in 37 from there.

Why are you immediatly willing to accept one thing you read on the internet but not another, when you cannot verify either of the sources?

I knrew a guy played in a week end tournament, had a two hour drive to get there. Opponent was losing badly, dragged the time out to the second time control, then refused to quit and sealed his move to be played the following week-end. After driving back home and returning the next Saturay, (FOUR hours driving), his opponent didn't show, when the TD opened the sealed move, it was "resign".
Hahhahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.......what a funny trick by a bad loser. And people here get mad when they're timed out.

How do you know it is mate in a further 37?
Do you have the relevant tablebases?
I wanted to check that, but the 6-man tablebase alone is 3.2Gb to download.

I don't have the 6 man tablebases. However Fritz finds a mate that involves white giving up his knight to reach a 5 man tablebase I have.

There may of course be a better mate but you'd have to ask someone with the relevant tablebase.

Yeah, I have just plugged the position after 518. QxR+ into Fritz9 and it came up with mate in 9.
