Well we both had less than a minute left in a
40/120, SD/30 game with 5 second delay.
that means there was at least
40 move time control x 2 + SD time control x 2 + 5 second delay x 40 x 2
(120 x 2) + (30 x 2) + ( 1/12 x 40 x 2) = 300 + 20/3 = 306.6666 as a minimum. I think it was an 80 move game so you can tack an extra 6 minutes on there if you really want to. I have never sealed a move and resumed the game another day however.
12.5 hours in the Zimbabwe Open Chess Championship 1984 (maybe 1983 or 1985) where the time limit was 40 moves in 2.5 hours each. Played the first session, an adjournment of 5 hours and a second adjounment. The game was agreed a draw in the third session after 125 moves by which time I had completed 2 subsequent round games.
The game was against a Russian WIM and the organisers judged it a loss to me (simply on the basis of who I was playing rather than the position) and paired me down with the result that I got an exceptionally good result in the tournament.

I played in the high school state with a time control of 2 hours each. I had min left and he timed out...so thats 3 hours and 55min...during the especially gruling periods i would listen to my headphones to pass the time
EDIT: Though in my opinion its not really how long of a game that becomes a drag on your mind and body, but how long of a wait you have between the rounds that can really hurt. Exampling being in same tourny i beat opponent in first 15min (he was unrated) and had to wait the full 3 hours and 45min.... plus 15min intermission. I quickly learned to "toy" with an opponent if it becomes clear that i have say a rook up plus position, just to pass the time.
