I know I try to find atleast 2 hours a day to study chess books, and I don't just study 1 thing at a time I try to cover all aspects of the game, tactics, middlegame, endgame, strategy etc. I'm also debating whether to get chessbase.

Hardly any. Beyond learning basic tactics and strategy, studying does nothing for me. So now I play and think hard and have lots of fun.

Word up Otis. I should be stopping by chess club to crack some skulls soon. Anyway, I don't study much at all during the week at school, but on the weekend I make up for it + some. I study alot of openings and endgame stuff, tactics, and Silman

I like to read chess books sometimes, and of course play my little annoying Radio Shack computer chess set...but I'm not sure if I ever "study" chess.

Or...maybe that IS studying chess...not sure.

I study chess hard, like 4 hours everyday, and I still suck. Story of my life, study hard, and suck at it anyways, no wonder I droped outta college. I'm seriously starting to get peeved off with my lack of learning/studying ability and it sentancing me to a life of poverty. *gives god the middle finger*

Right now, very little. I play and post here and that's about it.

Zero amount of time studying chess. The amount of time spend studying a game I am playing is another matter.

I pulled out an old book to make sure I understood en passant when I started playing here, and that's it!

i think some studying is required to improve, for example, i would have never understood the theory of opposition and triangulation in the endgame if i hadn't read pandolfini's endgame book.

I play games with my friend who is more expirieced and he teaches me tactics in real-life (not over the internet). I find that works better than reading a book.

30 minutes to 2 hours each day but i normally focus on something until i understand it by heart (e.g., practice the lucena and philidor positions so that i know how to draw or win). otherwise it's just tactics exercises using sharpen your tactics by anatoly lein, chess tactics art or chess mentor.
