😀 I can hear it, too... But there should be at least one "Yikes!" in it!
Speaking of Chessmaster analysis, have you ever tried the blunder alert when playing black? It seems that Chessmaster identifies moves which are bad for white as blunders for black, so you may get something like: "Leads to ..., which wins a rook. Unfortunately, there is no better ...[text shortened]... smaster with the blunder alert on, and took back all moves which were identified as blunders? 🙂
I've never used blunder alert on Chessmaster, but I'll have to check that out!

Game 1131956
Originally posted by NordlysI hate that blunder alert! Love the "Yikes!" though. I analysed a game I won a ways back, and there were two "Yikes!" in it (both times - if memory serves- where my opponent moved into a forced mate, and I missed them both!).

My game was against a stronger player as well, so they were even more unexpected.
Originally posted by AlcraYeah, the "Yikes!" is fun - especially if it refers to the opponent's move. 😉 What I hate is the "White doesn't see the win!" (the voice sounds so accusing...) and "White is asleep at the switch!", when I have missed another forced mate in 10 or so... I miss those all the time. I am even able to miss a mate in 2. Or even in 1... But hey, I am just a beginner. Of course, Chessmaster doesn't care about that.

We need to bring in NBC's "Dateline" to investigate these games... this was the first completed game for EACH of the two players from Game 1131956
Alcra and Nordlys -
Yes, I know exactly what you mean… I like using Chessmaster, but it does sound so accusatory when you miss a mate…"White's asleep at the switch and doesn't see the forced mate…much better is <gives 15 move variation> aaaannnd checkmate"
Nothing to do but slap oneself upside the head and say, "Dang, how did I miss that mate in 15?"
Originally posted by kattyYes, that is quite an amazing game. I've seen moves like that in giveaway chess. 🙂
check out this game guys!
