Only one question comes to mind: Why would anyone play through that game in the first place? :-)

The true Queen's gambit declined! I always thought you were supposed to gambit the d-pawn, not the queen herself, guess I was wrong all along.

I don't know, white at least had a plan, and it worked.

is this someone trying to boost their own rating?

What was the plan? to give away his queen, then his bishop? hoping that his/her opponent was dumb enough not to take them?

mmm.....the ancient and often misunderstood "Kamikaze Opening" making a sudden revival on RHP....how interesting!

I can hear Chessmaster 10th Edition's analysis of THIS game already:

1. e4 King's Pawn opening, opening line
1. ... f6 Out of opening book. e5 would have been in the Kings Pawn Opening, opening line
2. Qh5 check...checks Black's King
2. ... g6 Protects Black's King and attacks White's Queen
3. Bc4...slightly better is GET YOUR QUEEN THE HELL OUT OF THERE
3. ... a6 Much better is g x h5 which wins a Queen
4. B e6... uh oh... much better is GET YOUR QUEEN THE HELL OUT OF THERE YOU IDIOT...OH, NEVER MIND, BLACK PROBABLY WON'T SEE IT, GIVEN THE WAY HE'S PLAYED SO FAR.
4. ... b6 See, I told ya... Slightly better is TAKE THE QUEEN STUPID
5. Qd5...threatens to mate, Bishop f7.
5. ... a5 Look out! Leads to Bishop f7 and Checkmate. This was Black's key error... White was able to exploit the miscue, to mate.
6. Bishop f7 checkmate...checkmates Black's King

The two players involved in the game have a combined record on RHP of 2 wins, 2 losses...Shomakher is 2-1 cHRISTOPHER dOUGLAS is 0-1.

Slightly fishy

That was the plan I was talking about - the old hope they don't notice you've left your queen en prise trick. Although I grant you this is the only time I've seen it work.

😀 I can hear it, too... But there should be at least one "Yikes!" in it!

Speaking of Chessmaster analysis, have you ever tried the blunder alert when playing black? It seems that Chessmaster identifies moves which are bad for white as blunders for black, so you may get something like: "Leads to ..., which wins a rook. Unfortunately, there is no better move." Hmmm, maybe Black was che@ing and used Chessmaster with the blunder alert on, and took back all moves which were identified as blunders? 🙂
