Ok, I know the sicilian move is one of the greatest;it not only forks the queen, but also the bishop. But... It is too late of a move...
Here's what I mean:
( Sicilian ) :
1.e4..c5
2.Bc4..Ne5 ( So far this is sicilian stuff , solid as you like)
But... It was too late...
3.Qxf7..Kxf7
4.Bxf7 Check Mate!!!!
What do you guys think of that?
Don't you think the sicilian sucks?
Originally posted by AJMagicmanI don't know what crap you're playing,2......Ne5 it's impossible.

However the sicilian is good but complicate because of its many variations and lines, you don't seem the guy with enough experience to say that the Sicilian sucks.............

Well... You are right! π
It's actually like this:
1.e4..c5
2.Bc4..Nc6
3.Qf3..Ne5 ( So far this is sicilian stuff , solid as you like)
But... It was too late...
4.Qxf7..Kxf7
5.Bxf7 Check Mate!!!!
PS: Sorry for this; but what do you think?π
While I admire your determination to learn chess, I strongly recommend you assume BOTH players are going to play their strongest moves.
Originally posted by AJMagicmanI think it's pure crap,4.......Kxf7 is impossible, the only legal and best move for black is Ne5xf7 and you lost your queen with that crappy opening, also you assume your opponent is always a complete moron..............

edit:didn't see lucifershammer's post.
The Sicilian, in my opinion, is the ONLY response to e4, since 1...e5 for me seems to lead to only openings that I know are favored for White (such as the Ruy Lopez). 1...c5 I always considered to be a nice swift slap into White's face, sort of like those guys who would challenge each other to a duel by slapping each other with gloves......... Seriously.

You know what? Imagine if you guys were beginners and Bobby Fischer would say that same crap to you! Are you guys going to help? Or you are just going to make fun?π
I don't think these things you are saying are right! So cool off guys I'm just a beginner! π

I know the book states that The Latvian Gambit is refutable, but you are trying to refute a sharp opening. There is also the French Defense verses 1. e4 and the Caro Kann.
