2.f6 is horrible, but the game is still OK with 3. Qe2. after the night is taken, white is lost.

knight in that case is not taken just moves back to f3 queen takes pawn bishop to e2 White is better developed

and that is common sack if your opponent is dumb enought to play 2 f6.

here is another game 4912982 not sure how to copy and past games but f6 and then taking the knight pretty leads to forced mate.

2...f6 is Damiano's Defense. Not a good defense. 3.Nxe5 is best for White, and 3...Qe7 is the best Black can do at this point, I think. White should play 4.Nd3 and stands a little better.

Edit - Oops, I think 4.Nf3 would be better than 4.Nd3.

I like the knight back to f3 just because it does not block the d pawn there.

Agreed, although my guess it's not because of blocking the d-pawn. I think if White plays 4.Nd3, then Black can trade queens off the board, which I think takes away some of White's advantage in the position.

f6 is a terrible move, either black loses a rook, or is put into a forced mate.

actually it is not that bad... I agree that f6 is bad, but after 3....Qe2, black is Ok.

Then you have Qh5+, decisive material will be lost.

Moving f6 = for the pros not me.

Here white nead to be a little more careful......

1e4 e5 2.Nf3 f6?! 3.Nxe5 Qe7!? 4.Qh5+ ? g6 5.Nxg6 Qxe4+ amd the N on g6 is falling with better play for black.
