Do not solicit advice on in progress games.

Okay guy, I am not asking for advice. I am asking what was the lesson learnt here, the principles behind my loss of the pawn in the opening play. I said that is it because I advanced to take control of the center too early which lead to all the traps? Or even perhaps what move could I have avoided? I merely want to learn from this. The milk is already spilt, I want to know how I can avoid spilling the milk for next times.
Asking for advice would be something like, "So what should I play next?".
There is a rather strong rule that says something like: "You must never comment on games in progress."
It doesn't say: "Never seek advice..." or anything like. The rule is about commenting any game in progress, by the player himself or by his opponent.
And it is a good rule. I wouldn't like see others discuss my game with my opponent, helping him or not. It can't really be so hard to wait until the game has finished.
...but I can't find the rule in writing anywhere? Please, help me, where can I read the exact formulation of the rule?

(b) You will not use chess engines, chess software, chess computers or consult any third party to assist you in any game. Chess books and databases can be consulted during play
Originally posted by stanlohThe difficulty is that in order to explain the mistake in any terms other than the most general (watch out when defenders are attacked) we'd have to discuss alternative moves. If you were 30 moves down the line in an endgame and it was likely to take another month it would be fair enough, but you are still at move 6, alternatives to what you did still have obvious relevance.
