Ok ok, so it was a rapidplay... A rapidplay minor event. But hey, it's my first tournament in about 11 years and I got 5/6. I'm ungraded so I was in the minor, but rightly so I feel. Anyway, I'm feeling so chuffed about it that I wanted to share.

Because I've no grade my first two pairings were essentially trivial wins and I lost the 3rd despite gaining a clear initial advantage. It just slipped away when I exchanged too quickly; I turned a won game to a drawn one and so to spice it up, I lost. Round 4 I faced a fun Yugoslav Attack against a club friend but managed to get a win. Round 5 was a swindle when I was in a cramped position.

So going into the final round I was leading the group with 4 points with two players on 3.5 so there really was all to play for. Anyway, for your enjoyment, here is my final round game. Be kind, the two last blunders were time trouble related.

Very nice. I especially liked the 11th move Nxe6 very aggressive!

This is a "real" tournament.

Not some poxy waste of time on this chess site.

Hence it goes here.

I think this is the perfect place for the post. If I ever win a tournament, then I'll post it here! Of course I'll have to actually play in a tournament first.😉

Congratulations Meadows.
