Any blitz players notice that lately ICC is forfeiting games on a disconnect. I've been arguing with ICC for years, saying that gutless players would not resign, but simply shut down their computers in bad games and the ICC software would adjourn the game which of course they never resumed. Finally, they listened to reason, making a great site even better. Halelujah!

However, we did just get a new internet service today, so maybe the disconnects will go bye-bye and it won't be an issue.
I haven't actually tested that, but I think that only applies to the 1-minute, 5-minute, etc..where they auto-enforce the noescape option. It also happens when both players have set noescape = 1, but I'd be surprised if they just starting giving people wins on disconnects in any blitz game where it happens. That would be insane.
Originally posted by buddy2They only auto forfit like that if you choose the 5 min game option or the 1 minute game option. If you choose the regular blitz you ahve to have the forfit option on when you submit the challenge.

Originally posted by LeaadasI've only been playing 5 minute, so i didn't notice if they have it on a longer game. I believe playchess.com also has a disconnect=forfeit policy. I think they give you some time to reconnect. Even then you have to request a forfeit to get it.

Originally posted by buddy2Playchess has ridiculous rules with discs. Basically, you get until your clock runs out to reconnect...unless your opponent notices that you've disced (they usually do if it's blitz) in which case they claim the win. I think it's a little ridiculous, tbh.

Originally posted by buddy2I have been disconnected alot of times when I had a win. I had 1488 or so rateing in Yahoo one time. Three disconnects in a row took care of that rateing. They should timeout the adjourned games? Most of the time I am unable to reconnect or stay connected. Losing to a disconnect is crap.
