hey, if any of you get a chance and want to see a position that could easily be in a book of combination tests, go to Game 690454

this is a game i played with one of my regular opponents back in september. and it was through this game that i learned the value of truly studying your games at RHP to find the best moves.

I'm white: start at move 23 and go slowly (getting a grasp of the fight)
THEN, my favorite move of all my games so far: move 30!! this quiet quiet move makes it look as if I allowed my bishop to hang in thin air...but there's a kicker in store. Hats off to my opponent, it has never been an easy task against him, ever!

best, steelydan

Nice combo indeed 🙂

Nice, but black was not forced to play Rxc6. Any c-rook move along 8 rank (except Ra8) or even Qd1+ would be much better.

yeah, i know the rook taking the knight back was the mistake for black...but without the "help" of our opponents sometimes, many more of our games would retire to the draw bin.
