snap. this site is dead in the gutter. ppl join play a few moves and stop. Bores me just claiming wins cuz they didnt move for 10 dyas....
I usually have 30+ games at a time, and I haven't had somebody completely stop moving against me in at least a year.

Yes you are correct. EVERYTHING in life should be FREE! Hosting/Running/Developing a site such as this surely costs NOTHING.

The real benefit, however, was emphasized by tmetzler (who happens to be one of my clan mates): if there are no subscribers, the site will disappear, or at least deteriorate. This site, and another to which I subscribe, are not deteriorating; they are getting stronger and better. The subscription fee for a year costs about the same as a small weekend tournament. A pittance.
If you can afford your internet connection, why do you whine about a valuable service? It cost less than any software that's worth buying.

Next time you are looking for a quick-moving game; send our fellow clan-mate Ravello a challenge/pm. He's by far one of the fastest moving players I've played. (That's who I play when I want a quick game)
But BEWARE, ignore his greatly-fluctuating rating. He IS a 1500 player when he wants to be.
