Do you guys ever get those couple of days where you just play horribly for some reason?
I've lost 4 games in a row by making stupid errors or blunders over the past couple days. I just can't seem to get out of my slump. I played a great game at school yesterday for the first 20 moves but ended up making a dumb blunder.
How do you guys get out of your slumps?

Thanks for the advice. I just finished this game. I'm rated 1400 and my opponent is around 1720.
I am black in this game.
Feels great to beat someone 300 points higher. One step closer to getting out of my slump...

On the other hand, the problem of a seemingly unexplicable total loss of sensing of the position is another agent that causes disaster, but the player overcomes it once he becomes mature enough to know that the chessboard is a minefield till the very last move of the game. You have to ride both the position and yourself in order to win.
Anyway I hate it when it happens to me -and I just lost the chance to win a tourney at this site because of it-, but I try to wash down immediately this bitter taste of dissapointment and idiocy by solving tactical problems and studying games with particular concepts of strategy. No big deal afterall😵

Originally posted by robbie carrobieOh Irn Bru, the horror! After May 16 I punished myself by refusing to offer him the permission to drink more than a glass of malt (30ml) monthly until my next birthday. Wine and champaigne and every kind of alcohol is banned too. That miserable black bug will become a bit thirsty I reckon😵
