Here's my first 15 minute game at ICC.
Both sides made quite a few mistakes, but I kind of like all the sacrifices.
White - me (Provisional Rating)
Black - 1400 Player
7.h4 looks terrible. I was planning a classical bishop sacrifice.
I didn't pay attention to the fact that 8. ... dxe5 forced 9.Nxe5 , as played in the game.
10. ... c5 looked pretty good. My center is in really bad shape.
I felt as though I had to work something up fast.
11.Ne4 had the intention of removing the f6 knight's protection of h7.
It might not be all that great, but I was getting desperate.
12.h5 Nxh5 13.Rxh5 looked pretty dangerous. I could always chicken out with 13.g4 as well.
After 15.Nxf7 Kxf7 16.Ng5+ Kg8 17.Bxg6 (If there isn't something better, like perhaps Bf8) looks pretty crushing.
If 17. ... Bxg2 18.Bf7+ Kh8 19.Bg7+ Kxg7
[20.Rh7+ Kf8 (20. ... Nxh7 21.Qg6+ Kf8 22.Qg8 Mate is one win) 21.Rh8 Mates Edit Maybe not !!!]
20.Qg6+ Kf8 21.Rh8 Does though. 🙂
Naturally, I didn't see all this in the five minutes I used for the game, but I felt it had to be there on instinct.
15. ... Qd5 was a good practical try.
Black's king just ends up too flooded with white pieces and doesn't have much of a survival chance in the end.
I just finished this game a few minutes ago. No doubt, better lines for white and black will be there.
In the end, white used 5 minutes to black's 10.
