interesting chess sites

anyone tried this:

someone recommended it to and I was thinking to try it, anyone else registered there ?

they seem to call their website championship title "FICGS Correspondence Chess WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP" title. -the site just must be american. 🙂

looks very sketchy. ratings awarded without playing a single game, supposedly by claiming to be someone real. top ranks teaming with titled players, but otherwise the whole thing seems to be very small scale. and as we know how 'easy' getting real titled players to play here in vastly superior conditions and 260,000+ players is, well...

lets just say I'm highly sceptical. 🙂

I have played there. They permit, and even encourage computer use.



As for ratings: my provisional rating was based on established correspondence ratings through correspondence play (IECC and USCF) and set lower. It remained unchanged until I completed quite a few games.
