I am black in the following game at which point I accepted a draw seeing a roughly equal game after Bxe4, Bxe3, Bxe1, Kd2 (it was also midnight =)



I was pondering it in the shower this morning and found a better solution (and crafty agrees with me). What is it?

edit: just a minute my fen from chessbase isn't working right.... fixed

edit: BLANKED OUT THE DRIVEL 😳

re-edit: Qxf2 looks interesting, with the follow up of Rxe4 pressuring the white Queen and allowing a double up of the rooks, not sure if I would risk it without taking a while on the analyse board feature!

Qxe4 Nxe4 Rxe4....

Then Rae8 at some point....

That Bishop is going to be near impossible to defend....

So....

2 Knights and a Bishop + a pawn is worth what you traded to get it....

Exactly. In fact after Rxe4, the queen must move, Rae8 immediatly gives an excellent game for black.

the Queen does not have to move bf4 also works....

although that is certainly not what i would play...

Actually Bf4 was crafty's move. However blacks bishop on d6 is rather useless so I was more than happy to trade it off.

Bf4 seems stupid to me....

after its traded off its buggered up the pawn structure....

at least if you move the queen you can make some sort of defence...

but it allows white to castle and white now has an open g-file pointing right at the black monarch.

hmmm.....well I suppose it does to that....
