Hi all,

I'm just wondering if there is a great *pdf or website to introduce a beginner to the game. I'm thinking of something like "The Way to Go" except pertaining to chess, not to go.

Any thoughts?

There is so much out there,not sure what's best for a beginner.Perhaps this:

Other than that I don't know,just surf the net until you stumble on something good.

No it's not for me, I've been playing for a decade.

I'll keep searching, but I still haven't come across anything that makes the game accessible without being overwhelming.

I guess the fischer teaches chess book is the best I'm aware of.

Get "Chess for dummies" or the "Idiots guide to chess"

The titles may be insulting but he/she will learn a lot without getting too confused.
