I have been playing this game for a few days now and we have been moving consistently today. Averaging moves every 10 minutes or so. I have a forced mate in 1 move and my opponent quit moving. I understand I will get the win eventually but it is still irritating.

Not the prettiest game and I am black.

Yes I would give them the benefit of the doubt had they not moved right up to the last move.

The game was forced from a couple moves before this point. Why keep it going or not just resign when the game is lost?

I think you should be thankful it is not you who is resigning.

    Instead of 31.fxg6+ I'm liking 31. Qxh7+.
Black cannot interpose his Queen as QxQ+ (pxp+ first) KxQ and Rxe8 wins a Rook.

    So 31.Qxh7+ Kf8 (31...Kf6 32. Qxg6 mate.)
    32. fxg6 And I cannot see a Black defence to the mate on f7
that does not lose a Queen.

    32...Qg7 33.Rxe8+ or 32...Qf6 33. Qh6+ and again Rxe8+
Surprise it was missed. it looks pretty obvious.
The dangers, of which I know only too welll, of blitzing a serious game.

Trust me when I say that I am the first person to admit that I should have lost this game. I went up a minor piece and didn't follow up with what I think should have been a win. I got into a bad situation that my opponent didn't follow up on either. I was moving on two or three games and was only taking 1-2 minutes to evaluate our game. I was also moving on my phone at times which is never a good idea either. I knew I had definately screwed up and wanted to see how my opponent would play it out.

This is actually another reason I am irritated because as long as my opponent was winning he was moving at a good pace and suddenly took alot longer to move after he took my rook and put his queen out of the action. I thought I could at least draw and when I saw the forced mate I thought for sure we would wrap it up. He quit moving with only one move for him.

I had actually expected him to play Qxh7+ and was looking for any way to draw.

    I didn't see 30. Qh5 until after I submitted my move.

He does not appear to have moved in any of his other games.
He not a sulker, very few time outs and he appears to be better or
at least equal when he was timed out.

He is also a non-sub so I'd expect him to quit when he wakes up
to get his max game allowance up.

However, if he sees this thread he may make you wait the 7 days.
    I would. 🙂

You may be right, but I will get the win either way now.

I guess maybe I should subscribe so I can play a few more games, although I didn't play too well with six going.

This whole correspondence chess thing is alittle different than I am used to. I need to take some more time on my moves.

Also click on the analyze board and move your pieces around so you can
get a good look at where the pieces are going to be before you make your
official move. I first started playing like you just like I would OTB. That's
okay if you want to practice for OTB play, but if you want good results here
you have to use every option you have, like the books on openings and
    endings and master games.

I will have to check out the analyze board for sure, although that does seem like cheating. I guess cc is a different game than otb.

    thanks.

    thanks.
In OTB chess you are not allowed to set up another board somewhere else
and use it to analyse your moves during the game and you can not refer
back to an opening book to help you remember opening variations and you
can not look at your endings book to get help there either. Here on RHP
those rules are thrown out the window. You are allowed to do anything
you can think of except use a computer chess program during the game
to help you with yor moves. But if you wish to get practice for your over
the board play, it might be better to play blitz on here.
