I agree, your crap, quit chess, give up etc and please stop telling everyone about how crap you are since we already know.
Greyeyes, if you were in my shoes, you would whine a lot too. You can't possibly know what it feels like to work hard at whatever you put your mind to, and ALWAYS FAIL. I never succeed, I don't even know what success is anymore, I've never experienced it. I won't quit whining UNTIL I AM A GOOD PLAYER, success is what will kill the whining you so hate, so sorry, you guys will have to deal with me FOREVER I guess, because I won't quit. If you are really desperate to get rid of the whining, I suppose you could help me get good, but honestly, I think I'm beyond help.

People won't take time to help you improve while you continue whining. Look at the various threads in this forum that have commanded excellent and prompt help. They are the ones that ask for help in a polite manner. Do the same and people will help. Whine and people will tell you to shut up. Your choice.

I don't know your definition of a good player, but from my point of view, you already fall into that category--you're rated ~1650 which is enough to put you in the top 500 on this site.

Everybody has a 'dead period' where no matter what you do, you never seem to improve. Keep on playing/studying and have a little faith in yourself. How do you expect to improve if you keep telling yourself that you'll fail?

That's wrong...You should always play the best move possible. That is what is escaping him now...failing to recognize his opponant's strengths is what's creating these problems for him. Try to cover everything that can be covered. You will not always succeed in preventing your opponants tactical shots, but at least try to see them coming and do what you can to prevent them from happening.

Counter an attack on the wing w/a push up the centre.

Or use openings designed to castle Q-Side... as the gentleman before me stated!

Or just commence drinking heavily as soon as white pieces begin to swarm around yer King. Works every time for me.

Rightly or wrongly I usually (all things being equal as my economics lecturer used to say as a get out for contradictory comments) I always make it a priority to chase away or exchange knights in the kill zone as they are a shorter range weapon and (in my opinion) you need a VERY good reason to allow them to stay there (opinions from higher ranked players very much appreciated on this subject). As for the main line of this thread (in other words back to the first posting question) it sounds to me like you are too intimidated by this attacking formation and perhaps (sorry I haven't the time to check out your games) you fall in a too defensive mode at the expense of your own attacking opportunties, could this possibly be the root of the problem

Sorry I've just read my post and of course I am also interested in comments from players of any rating (sorry if that read as arrogant)

Real classy Grayeyes, now that JW is gone from the forums, you've found a new pet to bash, real low of you though, seeing that I don't cheat like JW. All you've got on me is that "you're annoying", I'm sorry my presence doesn't give you great pleasure for your perfect little flucking day! I'm not out to make friends, so I don't care if I annoy anyone, the feeling is mutual BTW. . .

I was bitching at you before JW left the forums. People can only read your sad little posts for so long before they start to agree with them. Im just telling you, that yes infact you do suck.
