If we were all created as equals, we'd all have the same intellegence and abilities. People are obviously unequal.
Don't blame God because your chess is not as good as it should be.
(you will get a whack from a thunderbolt and these things hurt.)
The only person to blame is...........?

As for you question, who is to blame? Why it's my opponent. If my opponent made the moves I wanted him to make, I'd have won the game every time!
The issue I was talking about is "equal in God's eyes".
It isn't our blunders that cause us to lose. I've won lots of games where I blundered. It is when the opponent taking advantage of the blunder that causes us to lose. If the opponent doesn't see the blunder and doesn't take advantage of it, then the blunder can become a great move!

hi if i pray to God and ask him to help me find good moves and he communes with me not directly, but gives me a spirit of wisdom, is that third party assistance - kind regards in advance Robbie.

The answer is 'No'.
Because He would not take sides.
Whatever God it is you believe in, all created us as equals.
So giving chess adivce to one would not make it fair on the other,
it would be unequal.
However, if you find yourself playing for your soul v Satan then the
Big Fellah might offer some assistance.
He loves it when you check ...[text shortened]... he Devil gooes potty when that happens.
Apparently you can hear the bellowing all over Hell.
Third party assistance? Can't prove that one lol.
