I'm playing in a tournament with him right now and he's set his vacation flag on and his profile message reads "I'm done with this site. Time me out when my vacation ends". Whats going on there?

He's a jerk. He said some pretty immature things via the messages, Im sure he acts that way to everyone, he probably would have been gone for 3c anyway. I was going to enjoy beating him in both games but it's even better that he left. 🙂
It is very annoying for me, he was a piece up against my closest competitor in the 2008 championship - now I cant rely on him to get me a result in that game.
