I have not heard of en passant to the side.

Its an obvious glitch. En passant was created because pawns use to only be able to move one square at a time no matter what. It evolved and hence en passant. Look it up online and it explains it in detail if your interested.

No, cxd5 is only allowed if there is a white pawn on d4 😕
