Just now in a blitz game as black. I lost the first game but came back with this:

LLil Meca vs. Vivify ( missed checkmate at move 24).

I missed checkmate at move 24 (and 25). That would've been a sweet finish to an unusual opening.

You'll be waiting a long time before you see 3. f3 again!

HI Viv,

If you go here:

http://www.redhotpawn.com/gamesexplorer/index.php?movelist=&flip=0&co=-&u=-1&c=1400

You will see they have this position....

...appearing 61 times. As the DB is about 2 years out of date and it does not
included games under 12 (maybe more) moves I have 442 games from this position
on RHP. White wins = 359. Drawn = 7 Black wins = 76.

The quickest Black win is:

OK GP, thanks for informing me about that tool. Seems very useful.

Looking through the games in the DB, it only has two games with the same first 3 moves, and zero games with with first four. If you don't mind, GP, can you find out how many RHP games have been played that the same first four moves? You said the DB is out of Date and doesn't have games under 12 moves; and I'm not sure what method you used to find the real number.

Again, thanks so much GP.

Hi Viv,

None. The closest is this one (details in the Header). White is winning,
then drifts...Black has perpetual with Nb2+ and Nd3+ but declines it.
Black walks into a Skewer 1-0.

There is, with:

24... Qg5+ 25. Kxf3 Re3+ 26. Kf2 Qg3+ 27. Kf1 Rf3+ 28. Qf2 Qxf2 #

I don't think there's a quicker way (?)

EDIT: nope, 28. Kxe2.... bugger lol

EDIT EDIT: nice attack though

I think there's a good reason why this opening hasn't been invented.

You're right. No wonder I "missed" mate.
