If white is so worried about ...f5 that he somehow stops it, then ...c5 is the obvious response. I can't remember if it was Fine in 'Ideas Behind Chess Openings' but I read that the KID was a 'come hither and let me snare you' type of game, or more plainly, wait for White to show his hand and then counter it.
