The bayonet attack used by Kraminik has really put the kings indian defense out of business for use by the top ten players in the world. Among lesser mortals, it is probably usable but requires a lot of study to keep up with all the theory.
and speaking of the King's Indian, what are the opening's objectives?
i'm trying to figure it out as i go and getting somewhat squashed in the process.
what do you do once white has built an imposing pawn center?

It`s a brave (or foolish) person who makes such a statement. Openings and responses come and go. What`s strong today will be derided at some time in the future.

I have become in a state of perplex about this question, I mean how did you know the king had indians, and I dred to think what you get up to with white, please note this is a chess site so try to keep the subject on chess, thanks lol, ps I am rated at about 1150 so if you need any tips dont be frightend to ask.

Do you think that the Kings indian defence is a suitable opening as black against almost anything white does for me (a ~1000 grade tournament player)?
thanks
So really its not ok for anything white does.
This is what can happen if you try aginst 1.e4
1. e4 Nf6 2. e5 Nd5 3. d4 e6 4. c4 Nb6 5. f4
White has developed a strong pawn centre & has space advantage

7. Be3 Bf5 8. Nc3 e6 9. Nf3 Be7 10. d5 exd5 11. cxd5 Nb4 12. Nd4 Bd7 13. e6

Bxg7 20. Qh5+ Ke7 21. Bc5+ Kxe6 22. Bh3+ Kf6 23. Qf5# 1-0
This is known theory.
