Ok, scrumpymanjack didn't find a reason why this knight sac is bad, can someone else? It seems dubious in the extreme but i get a quick win out of it none the less...

Game 1398299

The sac un-doubles my pawns and allows a quick pawn storm in the center. I think it's rather neat though i'm pretty sure it's un-sound. Any thoughts... 😀

mostly coz 21.Nh2 defends well and your extra pawn/initiative is not worth of a bishop...

Whenever you sacrifice material for something speculative such as extra space, a lot of times your opponent has different options available to give the material back and grab an advantage for himself. Your opponenet had such an option available, I believe. After 20....Kb8, I'm looking at 21.Bxb6 axb6 22.Nxe5!, and White has given the piece back and picked up a pawn. (22....Qxe5? 23.Qxb6+ Kc8 24.Qxc6+ Kb8 25.Rd3 with an unstoppable mating attack)

It's possible that he provided some analysis for the game, then realized that it was erroneus, and he had nothing better to substitute. I did the same in the "Endgame Analysis" thread. But I just edited my post and left it completely blank, rather than call myself out as an idiot.
