I made decision

Taking into account that during last months I feel that I have too much chess
in my life and my horrible mood today (after playing in one of the
worst OTB blitz tournaments of my life) I had inspiration to take
decision. I resigned all my games and left all my teams/clans/clubs
in internet CC sites in which I played until today (Redhotpawn in
Gameknot) and will try not to return here. My chess friends from
these sites which I would like have contact already have my e-mail.

Also i will not leave this blog.

........................................................

A valuable and entertaining poster, a good player and friend.

Just thought I'd post this before the rumours start.

If you don't have anything pleasant to add to this add to this thread,
I'd prefer it if you did not post. The lad is feeling pretty depressed
at the moment, the last thing anyone needs is a wise guy taking a
pot shot.

I've always enjoyed your contribution Korch but I understand the need to keep chess in perspective too. My very best wishes to you and your family.

I think Korch is a really nice chap and one to one he always had time for you. I really believe that he came in for some unnecessary and quite unjust criticism.

I hope no more rumours start and he is allowed to follow the route he has chosen with no more abuse from people on here.

The fact is Korch is a extremely talented player. Hang in there mate.

I myself have a cycle relationship with chess, that comes and goes in waves. Sometimes I'm addicted, sometimes I can't stand it.

Eventually, he'll come back to correspondence chess, but it may take a couple of years.

Maybe the thing is for these higher rated players not to start blogs.

That is sad news. Korch is a bright young man , I always respected what he had to say. It certainly is a loss to the internet chess community.

CC burnout is a bitch. and everybody hits it sooner or later. CC is like giving a junkie a mountain of crack and saying: "don't overdo it."

he'll be back after a small break. we always come back to the crack mountain.

I see what you are saying.

You have so many plates spinning in the air, so think another
won't make any difference - suddenly you cannot devote any
time to anything and they all come crashing down.

It happened to me often enough but there again I never learn.

It does sound very much if Korch is simply Chess'd out. it happens.

The difference here is Cludi was banned, Korch has left on
his accord needing a total rest from competative chess and
this very addictive site, He will keep his chess eye in via his site.

When I was a RHP newbie and I posted some questions or games, Korch was always one of the first to give me advice and analysis. Korch seems like a fellow who needs to teach- needs to give. That's why he does the blog. That's why he does all the miniature analyses and that's why he gave us that great play by play of that tourney he entered in Riga (or wherever it was) a while back.

Eventually, when you have all these projects and a real life too, it catches up to you.

I hope Korch takes a little time off, recharges the batteries and comes back. And, Korch, if you read this, even if you never come back, thanks for your contributions.

eh is a pretty cool guy, he wins his opponents and doesn't afraid of anything.

I appreciate Korch's helpful posts and hope he will come back when he has more time. Chess is excellent in moderation but spending too much time on it can be problematic.

I'd like to see how well you do in corresponding over the internet in your second or third (or whatever) language.

I think he realised he was due to face me in the final group of the Kings Gambit Accepted. Shame, i was looking forward to a 'lesson'.

I didn't see it as a put-down at all. More like a tribute.
