I've recently started learning about the opening in more detail

and have started my learning experience with using it here on the site

1.e4 e5
2Nf3 f5

this is the latvian beginnings, from here there are many branches depending on what white plays

I know it a little bit (only with 3. Lc4) but I think it's too dangerous If you miss something in the opening you are already gone!

It's not for everybody. One mistake and you're dead. The same is true for White, however...

The Tony Kosten book, "The Latvian Gambit Lives" is good.

Seems to me you have to be a good attacker to play it.

The Latvian Gambit is a very strange opening, it would suggest to the player that it is dangerous but it isn't. Buy one book on it and you can win loads of games with it. Try It!🙂

Oh excellent! I've been meaning to learn it myself. Hey Villa, if you want a few unrated "practice games" on both sides of the gambit, I'll be happy to oblige.
