There haven't been many lectures here in the forums lately so I thought maybe we could come up with a list of potential topics. I'll start

- Common errors in the French Defense (for white)
- Endgame's with most of the pawns still on the board.

I'm debating doing a lecture on these. Anyone else have a topic they think would be worthwhile of a lecture?

I think the forum's in a state of civil war.

It's time to move on. We don't need 5 threads talking about the same thing. Some useful suggestions might save this forum from complete civil war.

Most errors in the french happen with black playing blindly....like Game 3508485...... 😛 6..Nge7? allows white to get a big advantage

I disagree - 6...Nge7 is not so bad and has been used by Korchnoi. In your game black got into trouble due to 9...a6?! (better was 9....Qb6) and 10...d4? (better was 10...Be7).

maybe, but i'm brainwashed by MCO who says that white is better after the lines that start with 6..Nge7 7.dxc5

There will be peace now.

"The outcome of [Nimzowitch's] discourteous remark was a series of quick games for a side bet, which I won with ridiculous ease, and ended by his retracting the statement he had previously made. Many more of these games were played, until all the masters agreed that I had no equal at this kind of chess."

Chessgames.com Qoute of the day is right on!

One of my few losses in the french. What else am I supposed to do with my king knight though, It's got to come out sometime. I see that it was the wrong time to do so. Maybe I should have exchanged pawns then bring it out. I've never had my queen chased around like that in the french so that was probably the mistake that cost me.

how about tips on how to play Bird's opening for white? or General end game strategies for intermediate players trying to move up to the next level.

I like 6 ... Nh6 in that position. If White plays 7. Bxh6 (?) then Black has 7. ... Qxb2.

I'm in the process of doing a beginners guide on the Traxler.

Interesting idea, even if white didn't take the knight and protected his b pawn black could play Nf5, bringing it where I wanted, I'll toy around with that idea a little, thanks

I don't play the birds opening but I 'm always looking for new stuff as white. And yes endgame's are a big part of the game but it's such a broad topic, I think I may do one one various endgame's.

I think a middle game training would help. The openings can always be learn through the internet and books. The middlegame is the main separation between master rated 2000 and juniors like us.
