Is it legal to move one's King onto a square that is under attack by one of the opponent's pieces, provided that the opponent's attacking piece is currently pinned to his own King?

No, you can't expose your king to check. He would die first and other army would win.

And for this reason you can use a pinned piece to support a checkmate.

A pinned piece can still deliver a check.

Here's a game I played at FICS a while back where the checkmate was supported by a pinned piece. I didn't save the next game where I lost due to the same concept.

1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. e5 c5 4. Nf3 Nc6 5. Bb5 Bd7 6. Bxc6 Bxc6 7. O-O Bb5 8.
Re1 Ne7 9. dxc5 Nc6 10. Nc3 Ba6 11. Be3 Qa5 12. Nd4 Qxc5 13. Nf5 Qa5 14.
Nd6+ Bxd6 15. exd6 Qd8 16. Bf4 O-O 17. Qg4 f5 18. Qg3 Nd4 19. Bh6 Rf7 20.
Bxg7 Rxg7 21. Qe5 Nxc2 22. Qxe6+ Kh8 23. Qxf5 Nxa1 24. Rxa1 Qg8 25. Nxd5
Rxg2+ 26. Kh1 Rf8 27. Qe5+ Rg7 28. Nf6 Qf7 29. Nh5 Qf3#
{smpos checkmated} 0-1

I couldn't get the pgn thing to work.

You have to delete all the crap and spaces and join up the moves.

Yours originally looked liked this:

1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. e5 c5 4. Nf3 Nc6 5. Bb5 Bd7 6. Bxc6 Bxc6 7. O-O Bb5 8.

Re1 Ne7 9. dxc5 Nc6 10. Nc3 Ba6 11. Be3 Qa5 12. Nd4 Qxc5 13. Nf5 Qa5 14.

Nd6+ Bxd6 15. exd6 Qd8 16. Bf4 O-O 17. Qg4 f5 18. Qg3 Nd4 19. Bh6 Rf7 20.

Bxg7 Rxg7 21. Qe5 Nxc2 22. Qxe6+ Kh8 23. Qxf5 Nxa1 24. Rxa1 Qg8 25. Nxd5

Rxg2+ 26. Kh1 Rf8 27. Qe5+ Rg7 28. Nf6 Qf7 29. Nh5 Qf3#

{smpos checkmated} 0-1

It is now between two [pgn's] looking like this.

1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. e5 c5 4. Nf3 Nc6 5. Bb5 Bd7 6. Bxc6 Bxc6 7. O-O Bb5 8. Re1 Ne7 9. dxc5 Nc6 10. Nc3 Ba6 11. Be3 Qa5 12. Nd4 Qxc5 13. Nf5 Qa5 14. Nd6+ Bxd6 15. exd6 Qd8 16. Bf4 O-O 17. Qg4 f5 18. Qg3 Nd4 19. Bh6 Rf7 20. Bxg7 Rxg7 21. Qe5 Nxc2 22. Qxe6+ Kh8 23. Qxf5 Nxa1 24. Rxa1 Qg8 25. Nxd5 Rxg2+ 26. Kh1 Rf8 27. Qe5+ Rg7 28. Nf6 Qf7 29. Nh5 Qf3

Hope this helps.

Yes, even a piece which is pinned against a King can deliver a check.

discovered double check-checkmate?
EDIT:
for example: queen is pinned to king horizontly by a rook...vertically A knight moves out of the way, giving check to the opposing King while the queen also hits the king

In the scenerio, the knight is still pinned to its king by the queen that is pinned to her king. In other words, if the queen is black, then even though the black queen is pinned by the white rook, it can still put the white king in check, therefore the white knight is pinned by the pinned black queen.

Thanks Greenpawn. I tried fixing it three or four times before giving up on it.

White gets to checkmate entirely using pinned pieces. Nice idea c guy1!

Picture this, the Bishop stands protecting the King from attacks.

He has a long range weapon like a bow.

He doesn't need to move to deliver an arrow on target.

Most often the Bishop would run down to get his arrow back, as well as read the enemy his last rights and give him a proper burial. In this instance, the Bishop would deliver the death blow but stay by the King to protect him from any pending danger.

Regardless of situations, a King can NEVER walk into any form of check, or even move through it.
