Lets wait and see how the title matches go.
I would plead that we allow people to be humans after all.

Were those loses full time control official games or blitz?

120 +10s after 41
it is embarassing, he is not well for sure

"Carlsen got the upper hand, but just when a smooth win looked in the cards, he allowed counterplay, and an in-form Ding would have shut the door on the attack or even taken over. Instead we got what GM Rafael Leitao describes as "the worst move ever played by a world champion," 29...Rb2??.

You didn't need to be arguably the greatest chess player of all time to spot the winning reply 30.Qxh7+!, with the rook ready to give checkmate the next move."

Losing to Carlsen is not a disaster but the manner in the way it was lost is
worrying. It was, even for a clown like me, easy to see the one move threat.

Magnus Carlsen - Ding Liren. Norway 2024 (Classical game)
White has just played 29. Re1-e4.

Black played 29...Rb2 30.Qxh7+ 1-0.

In other games he has been mixing his move order and losing.
It is not just the moves. This is from Hikaru Nakamura

""I’ve played Ding many times over the years, but he definitely doesn’t seem like the same person.
At some moment he started bouncing up and down — he was shaking, literally shaking."

One thing for sure, when the World Champion says his goal it's not get the last place in tournament and even so he is so deeply in last, best for him and for chess it is to step aside, at least for the time being.

Not my call for sure, but it will be too sad if he presents to defend the title with blunders like that.

Interesting is that until that move, the game was not so good for Magnus. It was like a brain reset and for 1 minute he wasn't there.
