Is it possible to load a game that someone resigned from in chessmaster and set the computers rating the same as the guys to finish playing it out?
I've been playing in yahoo games, where I first became interested in chess....and after being pissed off that every 3rd game someone would just resign.....I found this site and the same thing happened on my first game 🙁
Making me want to just go back to playing the computer.
Thanks,
-Rob

Next, get a board out and play out the game, both sides.
You could just open the game up into chessmaster and see that analysis, no need to physically play it out till finish.
Here I'll do it for you:
Game 3061060
16.gxf3 Ng3 with a discovered attack on the white queen.
17.White queen moves and black takes the rook on h1.
Now black is up a lot of material and white resigns.
Nice work and done.

There are cheaters on both yahoo and RHP unfortunately. I just resigned myself to the fact that eventually I'll be playing a computer opponent here. But at least it'll be using proper chess rules and not something like a queen hack where it can summon itself a new queen from out of nowhere. That would really suck.

Plus what kind of a dumb cheaters wastes several months on a game->Rhp? Hahah losers.

thanks for the input guys. I'm still learning...I learned about yahoo the hard way, then I bought chessmaster and went through the "academy" I'm not though it just yet, but wanted to see how some of what I learned played out in a real game (discovered attacks, forks, pins, etc.)
Originally posted by Rallymoto36many of the 1200p players come here, start a game, and never come back. there won't be many of those after they get over the provisional period (which lasts for 20 games). and after 5 games you get a rating different from 1200p, so that also shows some kind of a small commitment.
I found this site and the same thing happened on my first game 🙁

First copy the PGN from your game by going to info-> get PGN / FEN
Copy that chunk of text
Then go into chessmaster and go to Set-Up position.
Hit cancel or next on the set-up screen. Then go into Edit- paste PGN
This will give you your game. Then go into Game-> set up game
Pick your opponent and time controls and play on.

16...Ng3
Now your black bishop is attacking his queen and the knight is attacking the rook on h1. Once he moves the queen, you take the rook with your knight.
Do you see it now?
The knight move discovers and attack on the white queen.
After that you are up material, just trade off the pieces and you win. You should be able to win that vs any opponent including experts. It's not that hard when you are up that much material.
thanks, yeah I played it out when I set it up in chess master and did it no problem. I'm still learning really, so it is nice to win a game finally haha.
Heck, I can barely beat the 6 year old computer character in chessmaster (my chessmaster rating is a horrible 500)
But I havent learned much about openings or much strategy, just moving the peices, and some attacks.
