Originally posted by ChandradiThere are quite a lot of strong girls up to senior school level in Britain (although there are probably at least twice as many strong boys), but very few girls continue taking chess seriously after the age of eleven. I've never really understood why this is so, especially as it is much easier for a girl to pick up a title (e.g. Girls' Champion) or prize money ('Best Girl'😉 to keep her motivated.
Suprisingly a girl won the U12.🙄

The International master Colin Crouch used to coach at Pinner chess club up until last season so he's been getting good coaching from a young age... 😉
Crosstable for the under 12 championship:

There were some very strong players in that tournament. The winner, Radha Jain, played 151 graded games (not rapidplay) last season!
EDIT: Is Radha a girl? Have never met him/her before...
EDIT II: I've actually played Peter Batchelor as well! Very good player for his age, i think we made 60+ moves. He only went astray in the ending. He'll be 130 in a year no problem!
