Wow, it was even a proper game, although the image of pulling teeth comes to mind when watching it being converted at the end.

yeah it was not fun and i got lucky too. but i think i came out of it with more of an idea how to kill the knight. get the king to the side and threaten mate with king and king if possible, or trapping the knight on the side but i didn't see a way to do that

It is always worth a go, if you can force the king right into the far corner you eventually get your chance but it is difficult to put it there and also possible to defend even then.
I believe (somebody will provide the link to this, I am fairly sure) that some strong grand masters got into that endgame a few years back and the knight player managed to lose it. It might have even involved kamsky but I dont remember for certain.

yeah. i tried to find a solution to the rook and king vs. knight and king endgame on the internet and just found suggestions. i'm a subscriber to chesslecture.com and that site had nothing on this which was a little disappointing

My Chessmaster game would go crazy analyzing this game.

It'll go like this in an annoyed voice "Black misses his chance for a forced mate. MUCH BETTER is...blah blah"
