if they are spaced right i think there is a way, it was in "rethinking the chess pieces" by andy soltis

If the king is on a back rank I believe it might be possible to force if you play the right waiting moves.

For a point of information, there was a famous engine user on Uchess who went by the name of chainsaw and his only loss was to me - in this very endgame.
The funny thing was, I was the player with the knight - it was the flaw in uchess that it does not recognise insufficient material to mate that allowed my victory on time.
After that he gave up using the account - so a great victory for the human mind there!

Regarding the original (200 move) game, I was oddly reminded of Space Invaders after watching the black king dance along each rank. Kudos to whoever had the patience to play that out: I dunno how quick you guys move but the game must've started sometime in the Dark Ages, surely.
